Objective

Students know the main developments in the history of the media that are relevant to their future profession. They understand the connections between the contemporary media environment and the history of the media. They are able to critically assess the current state of their industry and its future prospects in relation to history.

Content

Main developments in the history of the media that are relevant to their future profession (e.g., print media, film, radio, television, digital media, online media, theatre).

Aesthetic, technical, economic and social dimensions of the history of media and the connections between different media forms.

Further information

The students are to get acquainted with the course materials and do the assingments during summer 2021. The grading will take place in August 2021. The deadline of the assignments is July 31, 2021. However, all assignments returned by August 15, 2021 will be taken into account in grading.
