The Master's Degree in Music prepares students for expert positions in demanding leadership, research and developmental positions in the music industry and music education. See the curriculum.
The general objectives of the degree are:
1. The development of expertise in relation to current and prospective issues in the music industry and music education.
2. Strengthening the leadership skills of work community development in music schools and the music industry.
3. Implementation of innovative learning and development projects.
4. Supporting the development processes of new and/or specialized professional areas.
Graduates with a Master’s degree in Music Performance or Music Pedagogy have a great aptitude for lifelong learning, good communication and interpersonal skills, and in-depth expertise in their area of specialization. Depending on their work experience and interests, students can focus on artistic, pedagogical or administrative studies, or a combination of all these.
The degree obtained is Master’s level. The higher education institution offering licentiate/doctoral degrees decides the student’s eligibility for further education.

Passed study modules
Studying is organized as a combination of contact and remote teaching, which allows the students to study alongside working.
Each student receives a Personal Study Plan to support their individual development. The studies consist of expert lectures and workshops, peer group learning, collaborative learning and individual tutoring.
Master's Degree (Second Cycle)
Depending on their work experience and interests, the students are able to focus on artistic, pedagogical or administrative studies, or a combination of all these.
The students work in various expert positions and communities, and they have a minimum of two years' relevant work experience before master´s degree studies. The thesis is a development assignment, where the student searches for solutions to challenges in their own work/organization.
Optional short-term student mobility can be included in the degree.
