Electrical Engineering and Data NetworksLaajuus (5 ECTS)
Course unit code: KM00GH40
General information
- Credits
- 5 ECTS
Objective
The student is familiar with the technology of electrical and data networks used in live performance arts. The student understands the safety risks associated with electricity, and can account for them appropriately. The student can apply this knowledge and these skills to live performance and theatre technology, including building typical data networks. The student knows the basics of wired and wireless signal transmission and understands the physical principles of electrical interference, and is able to consider its effects in live performance and theatre systems.
Content
• Electrical engineering in live performance technology
• The concepts and construction of Ethernet networks
• Electric signals in live performance technology
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to safely build temporary low-voltage networks and recognises some sources of interference. The student is able to use ethernet as part of simple audiovisual systems.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to safely design and build temporary low-voltage networks and pays attention to sources of interference. The student is able to design and use ethernet as part of audiovisual systems. The student is able solve typical problems in ethernet networks.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to safely design and build temporary low-voltage networks and pays attention to sources of interference while designing and building. The student is able to design and use ethernet as part of audiovisual systems. The student is able to prevent and solve most problems in ethernet networks independently.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student is able to safely build temporary low-voltage networks and recognises some sources of interference. The student is able to use ethernet as part of simple audiovisual systems.
