mydriatics
miotics
local anaesthetics
vital staining agents
antimicrobial agents
tear film substitutes
decongestants, antihistamines and anti-inflammatory components
ocular effects of local and systemic drugs
first-aid and emergency measures used by optometrists
handling side-effects of diagnostic drugs.

Qualifications
The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a valid course of study in accordance with the curriculum in force, where the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge and skills in the following subjects: An understanding of the general anatomy and physiology and the anatomy and physiology of the eye, as well as microbiology.
The prerequisites are fulfilled when the student has passed the following courses: General Anatomy and Physiology, Ocular Anatomy and Physiology, Clinical Microbiology.
