Objective

Student
- understands the legislation and service system related to emergency services and the standard practices related to crisis and emergency situations
- understands and is able to implement an assessment of the need for and urgency of patient care
- is able to assess a patient's condition, plan nursing care and take immediate therapeutic action
- identifies a critically ill patient and initiates and is able to implement immediate treatment measures
- is proficient in the main methods of examination and treatment of emergency and surveillance patients
- understands the pathophysiology of problems of an emergency patient
- understands and is able to implement emergency and surveillance care for infectious patients
- understands the significance of preparedness and prevention of work-related threats and hazards
- understands the drug therapy process in emergency and surveillance nursing.

Assessing the need for and urgency of treatment
Principles, legislation and service structure of emergency and surveillance care
Main patient groups in emergency care
Examination and management of patients in emergency and surveillance care
Examination and care of infectious and trauma patients
Dealing with danger and threat situations
Specific aspects of medical treatment in emergency and surveillance care
