Objective

Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:

- Identify the key concepts, actors, and processes in the live music industry.
- Describe the stages and roles involved in festival production within the music industry.
- Understand the fundamental principles and tasks of agency and management operations in the music sector.
- Recognize the key actors and their roles within the Finnish and international music industry ecosystems.
- Identify current trends in the field and their impacts on the music industry ecosystem.
- Apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations, particularly in the contexts of festival production and agency or management work.

- Talent agencies in Finland
- The music festival scene in Finland and abroad
- Work roles in a festival environment
- The processes and key players in festival programming, including collaboration at the intersection of agents and managers
- The music industry ecosystem and its actors (e.g., Teosto, Gramex, and various ticketing companies)

The student recognizes concepts, actors, and processes in the music industry. They can describe the phases and roles of festival production. The student identifies the key actors in the music industry ecosystem as well as current trends.

The student is familiar with the concepts, actors, and processes in the music industry and is able to examine them. They can describe the phases and roles of festival production, taking into account the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders. The student identifies the key actors in the music industry ecosystem and their roles and is able to evaluate their significance for the industry’s operations. They recognize current trends and are able to assess their impacts on the music industry ecosystem.

They analyze the phases and roles of festival production comprehensively, considering the interactions between different stakeholders.
