Objective
The main objective of the course is to provide you with a profound understanding of how raw materials eventually transform into finished products. Throughout the course, you will explore manufacturing and separation processes, their functionality, and production technology. We will delve into key unit processes in clean production and discuss contemporary materials, such as bio-based materials, and their versatile structures.
During the course, we will examine the composition, structure, and manufacturing methods of materials, helping you understand how these factors impact the properties and usability of materials. Additionally, we will explore the possibilities of renewable raw materials and process by-products, with a specific focus on their utilization in the circular economy.
The course will provide you with in-depth knowledge and perspectives that illuminate the more complex aspects of production, inspiring you to think from a sustainable future perspective

• Operating environment of process industry and various production processes.
• Manufacturing and separation methods in production.
• Most common types of materials and their properties, as well as selection criteria (metals, plastics, composites, bio-based renewable raw materials, and their structures and potential uses).
• Utilization of by-products and sustainable production.

The student can define or describe concepts and phenomena related to the topic. Can name the most common industrial processes and the unit operations included and identify them from process diagrams. Can classify materials and explain their performance in the process environment.

The student is able to apply and select related concepts and phenomena in his reporting and calculate related quantitative basic calculations. The student can explain the operation of the most common industrial processes and the unit operations included, and use and make simple process diagrams. The student classify and select materials for a process environment.

The student is able to explain qualitatively the concepts and phenomena related to the subject and calculate the related quantitative issues. The student can explain the operation of the most common industrial processes and the unit operations they use, and use and change process diagrams.
The student can evaluate the suitability of different materials in the process environment.
