Objective
Objectives:
The student
- is able to work responsibly as a member of a work community
- can plan a plain imaging examination of the thorax and skeleton based on a referral
- can conduct plain imaging examinations of the thorax and the most common imaging examinations of the skeleton
- can evaluate the plain imaging examinations they conduct and to either correct or supplement the examinations
- can guide patients individually in imaging situations
- can explain the significance of parameters affecting image quality and knows how to apply this knowledge in their work
- can explain the importance of dose optimisation parameters and apply this information in their work
- takes factors related to image quality and radiation exposure into consideration in plain imaging examinations
- understands the general radiation protection principles in plain imaging examinations to ensure the radiographer’s and the patient’s safety
- understands the importance of patient safety in their work and applies this knowledge when assessing their own activities
- is familiar with the safety protocols at the place of training and is prepared for emergency situations
- knows how to take data protection and information security into consideration at work and how to apply this knowledge when using patient data systems
- is able to observe the usual hand hygiene and asepsis precautions and justify their actions with theoretical knowledge of asepsis and hygiene
- becomes familiar with sustainability practices at the imaging unit
- assesses their own professional development as a radiographer in plain imaging examinations and is able to assess their personal strengths and set development goals
