Objective
Students are familiar with the development history of management and management research and understand their importance to the current theories and current leadership challenges. They are able to interpret this in the light of the reality of the current society and work life.
Content
History of management research and history of management development. Current management theories and present challenges. Key development phases in public administration.

Management and development in the field of social services:
• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to management in practice
• is familiar with management systems, understands their meaning and knows how to apply them to work community/organisation
• develops services and the activities of work communities by participatory actions.

• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to practice flexibly in managerial duties
• is familiar with management systems and knows how to apply them to versatile work communities, organisations and networks
• develops and manages services and service units ethically enabling their participation.

• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to practice flexibly in demanding and complex managerial situations
• is familiar with management systems and knows how to apply them to versatile work communities, organisations and networks
• develops and manages services and service units ethically and in a socially sustainable manner as well as can lead the activities of work communities in an inspiring and renewing manner.
