Objective

Learning outcomes
As a student you are able to use and apply the key phenomena of chemistry in clinical biomedical laboratory work:
you understand the structure of the atom and how elements are classified in the periodic table. You can form chemical reaction formulas with reactants and products and solve calculations of the amounts of substances. You are able to calculate the concentration and pH of a solution, you know the most common organic compound classes and structures and certain biomolecules.

Forming the names of inorganic compounds
Distribution of electrons in bonds
Formation of products from reactants in chemical reactions

Principles of naming organic compounds
Structures and isomerisation of organic compounds
Reactions of the functional groups of organic compounds
Basic characteristics of certain biomolecules.
