Objective
The student understands the project-like nature of conservation work and learns about conservation project phases. Students learn the principles of project work and develop their project skills. Students master the basics of conservation documentation and understand that documentation is a fundamental quality part of conservation of cultural heritage. Students familiarize themselves with the methods of documenting in different cultural heritage institutions and familiarize themselves with the concepts used. The student completes the documentation exercises in which he or she learns the related terminology.
Content
Proactive work and scheduling and resource allocation. Basics of Project Management. Conservation documents and their use. Preparation of condition surveys and conservation reports. Concept of documentation and documentation methods.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student has had inadequate involvement.
Activity in lectures and assignments has been weak and the student has had difficulties in teamwork. The student has achieved the objectives of the course only minimally. The level of information received is weak and the tasks of the course show that the topic has not been addressed. The student does not manage concepts and terms related to conservation documentation. The knowledge and skills associated with project management are weak.
The student is not fully able to perceive the basic ideas of the topic and the problem solving related to the topic and the application of the theory to practice is incomplete.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student has taken part in all teaching sessions and projects and his/her activity on the course has been good. The student acts flexibly as a group member.
The studies have proceeded consistently. The student is able to understand the basic topics of the course and is able to apply the theoretical studies to practical work. The reasoning of the rehearsal tasks is valid and the student understands the causes and effects of one's choices in the tasks.
The student works independently but there is still some need for further guidance from the teacher. The student has given enough attention for the subject and has an overall understanding of the subject.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student has achieved the course objectives fully. The student has taken actively and constructively part in the teaching and the project. The student’s actions enhance the group activities.
The student masters the topics of the course and its prerequisites, and is able to apply theoretical studies to practical work. The reasoning in the rehearsal tasks is professional and the student can validate the causes and effects of his/her choices.
The student works independently. The student masters the overall subject in both theory and practice.
