Objective
On completion of the course, the student will:
- can apply theoretical knowledge in practice
- be able to work independently on tasks related to the orientation studies
- be able to use professional tools in their work
- be familiar with other jobs in the sector and with the working environment and practices in the sector
Content
The aim of the traineeship is to familiarise students with practical work tasks and the application of knowledge and skills in working life, especially those that are essential for vocational studies. The aim is to develop the ability to deal with practical work situations.
Qualifications
A 30 credit placement period is a mandatory part of the Bachelor´s degree programme.
It can be completed either as an extended 20 week period in the professional area of specialised studies or in two parts: 10 weeks of basic training and 10 weeks of professional training. Half of the internship (10 weeks) must be in the area of specialised studies. Typically the student leaves for her/his professional specialised training after her/his 2. or 3. year of study. The condition is that the student has begun her/his specialised studies. Earlier work experience is generally not accepted.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student has achieved the course objectives fairly. The student will be able to identify, define and use the course subject area’s concepts and models. The student understands the criteria and principles of the expertise development.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student has achieved the course objectives well, even though the knowledge and skills need improvement on some areas. The student is able to define the course concepts and models and is able to justify the analysis. The student is able to apply his/her knowledge in leisure, study and work situations. The student understands the importance of expertise in the field of business and is able to analyze his/her own expertise.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student has achieved the objectives of the course with excellent marks. The student masters commendably the course subject area’s concepts and models. The student is able to make justified and fluent analysis and to present concrete development measures. The student is well prepared to apply his/her knowledge in leisure, study and work situations. The student is able to analyze the business sector expertise and the evolvement of his/her own expertise.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The grading scale of the course is pass/fail.
