Objective

After the course the student can:
• Outline the three dimensional form of the female body and its effect on the two dimensional pattern.
• Compare different shapes and details of women’s wear
• Compare the shaped and drawn patterns with each other.
• Understand the effect forms and patterns have on how the garment fits and functions.

Content

Shaping various female garments and their details taking into account different materials. Observing two dimensional shaping. Familiarizing oneself with shaped patterns and comparing the results. Writing a learning journal, in which the shaping exercises, shapes of the pieces and gained learning experiences are discussed.

The students recognize the affect three dimensional body has on a pattern. They can shape models according to images with appropriate looseness. The students partly meet the goals set for the course and have completed the assignment in an appropriate way.

The students have reached the goals of the course well. They have completed the assignments of the course in an acceptable way and have been able to apply the learned aspects when completing them.
