Objective

Students are able to write about their project development and to connect their written work with e.g. a concert performance or educational materials. Students can describe, explain, analyse and evaluate the development stages and results of their work. Students can identify the choices they have made during the thesis process and are able to reflect on them professionally. Students may pass the maturity test by having their written thesis published in an article.

Content

Work reporting and maturity test e.g. publishing of written articles. Supervision, seminars and debating opponent.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The work communicates satisfactorily to the target group. The language is satisfactory. The structure of the work is unfinished, which makes access to the work only satisfactory. The work satisfactorily presents the results related to the author’s professional activities and studies. The overall work is completed with some parts lacking. Different components integrate satisfactorily.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The overall artistic and pedagogic values are wide-ranging and of high quality, and the narrative is descriptive. The overall work is relevant and clear as a whole, with parts integrating well with each other. The structure of the work is logical and is clear to the reader/user. The text is easy to read and the spelling and grammar used to create the impression of a finished work. The packaging/presentation of the work is clear and polished. The content can be easily applied in the workplace. The work presents and evaluates how the conclusions/results are related to the author’s professional activities and studies. The work mainly focuses on developing the author’s own expertise.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The work contains significant developments in the field and offers new tools for the development of other experts. The student presents and analyses the work skillfully and workplace applications are clearly described. The author’s excellent analysis of the thesis process and results is important for his/her professional activities and studies, and for wider networks. The overall work and its components create a highly insightful, high quality and innovative package. Overall artistic and educational values are of an exceptionally high standard and are very wide-ranging. The written component is polished and impressive. The language is expressive, insightful, accurate and clear. The work is multi-faceted and directly applicable to working life.
