The Taecher as a Researcher and Developer of the ProfessionLaajuus (6 ECTS)

Objective

The objective of the course is to strengthen the teacher identity of music pedagogue students and learn skills required for interaction, researching and developing the teacher profession.

Content

In this course we examine teaching as various relationships (student, music, organisation and society). We outline the teacher identity of music pedagogue students, and on the other hand analyse the developmental needs and possibilities of each student. We also encounter various methods for promoting teachers´ collegial cooperation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

A performance that meets the minimum criteria, but no more. The candidate demonstrates a very limited degree of judgement and independent thinking.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

A good performance in most areas. The candidate demonstrates a reasonable degree of judgement and independent thinking in the most important areas.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

An excellent performance, clearly outstanding. The candidate demonstrates excellent judgement and a high degree of independent thinking.
