Objective

After completion of this course the student understands which elements the automation system of the discrete automation consists of, and is able to exploit automation technology in the developing of material handling, transporting and warehousing + packaging processes and systems.

Content

Basics of the automation technology. Basic elements of the discrete control automation. Observing, recognizing and identifying of the piece goods. Control system in automation technology, programmable logic controllers. Material handling, transporting and warehousing. Exploiting of the automation in packaging processes and systems.

The student is familiar with the basic concepts of automation.

In addition to above the student understands the various elements of which Manufacturing Automation
automation systems are formed.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to above the student is able to take advantage of automation technology in developing the processes and systems of materials handling and the transfer, storage and packaging technology.
