Descriptions

A HVAC master who has completed his studies is able to work in work management/project management positions in the field of building technology. The graduated student has the necessary skills in the field for continuous study and monitoring the development of their own professional field. The student understands the requirements set by the environment in all activities. In addition, the student has the basic skills for utilizing digitalisation as an aid to contracting.
Students are offered the skills required for professional studies in mathematical and natural science matters as well as in practical information technology and communication. The student gains an overall understanding of the systems and operating environment of the building technology industry.
The student has the opportunity to choose optional studies from other study paths and complete 30 ECTS credits in international exchange abroad.

The studies consist of:
- from basic studies (40 ECTS), which include introductory studies, general mathematical and natural science studies and the basics of communication
- professional studies, which include joint professional studies (100 credits)
- Metropolian innovation studies (10 credits)
- from optional and freely chosen studies (15 credits)
- Profile Studies in Working Life Skills (5 credits)
- from work placement studies (30 credits) and
- from a thesis that includes a maturity test (10 credits)

Implementation of studies
The studies are mainly carried out as 5-credit study courses. The study is multiform studies: the teaching is scheduled for a maximum of two weekdays per week, normally wednesdays and thursdays, (8 am - 6 pm) and possibly two evenings (6 pm - 8 pm) per week. In addition to weekdays, studying includes online studies, small group work, project and practice work, and learning tasks on digital learning platforms.

Development

The curriculum is constantly being developed in cooperation with companies, organizations and students in the field.
Feedback on the implementation of the curriculum is received from students through feedback systems and from companies through cooperation seminars and studies carried out in connection with working life, as well as through the advisory board of the degree program. Based on these feedbacks, the curriculum and implementations are developed annually.
In connection with the preparation of this curriculum, leading operators in the HVAC contracting industry have also been met in 2022-2025.
