Objective

The students know the principles of physico-chemical processing and refining of renewable raw materials and products with sustainable development values, modern equipment solutions and sizing methods for selected processes.
The student will have a practical understanding of the scientific and technical phenomena involved in the operation of sustainable production and the processing of test results, and will be able to apply them in a way appropriate to his/her profession.

Content

The course covers the physico-chemical production processes listed below and their potential applications:
•processing of ecological renewable raw materials
• in the development and manufacture of products with sustainable development values
•energy-efficient production
Unit processes to be practically taught in this course:
•Distillation
•Absorption
•Extraction/extraction
• Evaporation
In addition, the following topics will be covered
•Modelling of mass transfer phenomena and unit processes
•Process simulator use in sustainable production design
• The course includes laboratory work to learn about the application of the unit processes listed above. The work will apply what has been learnt to test runs and measurements in the theoretical laboratory and on pilot equipment.
•Reporting of experimental work, calculation and evaluation of results.
