Objective

The student is able to work in a safe manner while preparing various orthosis. The student is able to design, prepare, and assess custom orthosis, utilizing the principles of orthotic therapy. The student is able to utilize diversely and purposefully various orthosis materials. The student is able to design and prepare custom orthosis utilizing CAD-CAM technology. The student is knowledgeable about the basics of using orthoses and braces that are designed to support different lower extremity functions and rehabilitation as well as is able to instruct the client how to use and choose them. The student is able to apply orthotic therapy as a part of client’s other podiatric therapy. The student understands the possibilities of modern orthotic therapy design and manufacturing techniques in promoting ecological sustainability.
