Objective
Learning outcomes
As a student you identify the principles of primary health care and clinical laboratory activities. You understand the role of clinical laboratory activities in the offering of health care and social services and in promoting health.
You are able to describe the laboratory activities at your work placement and the related service system. You function as a member of a working community and multidisciplinary teams. You understand the importance of sampling as part of the patient’s/client’s care chain and refer clients in a client-centric manner for sampling and patient examinations. You are able to collect, handle, preserve and dispatch laboratory analysis samples in accordance with instructions to a high quality standard. You are able to carry out certain sample tests and patient examinations performed in primary health care and to assess the reliability of the results. You use laboratory data systems. You work safely, aseptically and ergonomically. You understand the importance of medical confidentiality as part of your professional ethics and the client’s/patient’s privacy protection. You assess your own professional development and areas for operational improvement. You develop your interaction, guidance and counselling and working community skills. You work in various working and learning environments and in multidisciplinary teams with a development-oriented approach.
