Objective

The student can describe the main components of sprinkler systems, the design principles and the regulations and instructions that guide the design, as well as the principles of smoke extraction systems. The student can describe the sizing and design principles of gas pipes. The student knows the additional requirements set for the design of HVAC technology in high-rise buildings. The student can take into account the effects of the building's high height in the selection of equipment. The student understands the importance of the chimney effect in a tall building and can take it into account in the vertical zoning of the ventilation system. The student understands the importance of structural fire safety in high rise building.

Content

Sprinkler and smoke extraction systems. Gas pipes. HVAC in high rise buildings. Calculation and control of chimney effect in tall buildings.
