• Steps in the thesis process
• Professional research and development methods
• The language of technical reporting and source-critical data collection
• Developing a topic proposal or plan for development work

The student
• understands the steps of the thesis process
• knows the main research and development methods and is able to describe them superficially
• is able to produce a report that is understandable and follows general reporting principles.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• understands the steps of the thesis process
• knows the main research and development methods and can describe them in a variety of ways
• is able to produce a clear and concise report and use sources appropriately.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• understands the steps of the thesis process
• knows several key methods and can describe in depth and assess their strengths and weaknesses
• is able to produce a report that is appropriate in content, polished in presentation and sound in its use of sources.
