Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students recognise and understand the structures and materials of coats superficially and can apply this in design incompletely. They understand the connection between quality perception and price in a limited way. Students make design decisions without justification. There are deficiencies in the visual and technical design and presentation of the products, making it difficult to grasp the whole or achieve accuracy.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students recognise and understand the basic characteristics of the structures and materials of outerwear and can utilise this in design. They understand the connection between quality perception and design choices and the product price. Students make design decisions that are largely justified and commercially viable. The products are visually and technically clearly designed and presented.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students recognise and understand the structures and materials of outerwear deeply and can apply this in design, creating innovative and functional solutions. They demonstrate a deep understanding of the connection between quality perception and design choices and the product price. Students make design decisions that are justified and commercially viable. The products are visually balanced and technically accurately designed and presented.
