Objective

The student
• is able to build a versatile concert programme
• is able to demonstrate a sufficient variety of professional and artistic expression on their main instrument
• is capable of managing the practical arrangements of the performance, such as assembling, leading and rehearsing the performance ensemble
practises their project management and interaction skills.

Content

• Selecting, preparing, rehearsing and leading a concert programme
• Performing the programme in public at a concert

Qualifications

Successful completion of Instrument Studies 1-3 or equivalent knowledge and skills.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

In order to obtain a passing grade, the student
• has demonstrated artistic, stylistically diverse proficiency on their instrument in the concert
• is able to function as part of a musical ensemble and to express themselves musically in an appropriate manner
• is able to use expressive techniques characteristic of their instrument and the repertoire chosen
has organised a concert for which they have, in collaboration with their instrument teacher, selected a repertoire of high quality, assembled and rehearsed the performance ensemble and managed the practical arrangements for the concert.
