Objective

The student
• is able to use their vocal instruments in speaking and singing in a versatile, nuanced, healthy and sustainable way.
• can use their voice naturally, taking into account the requirements of the teaching situation and the classroom, and can see the importance of their own voice as a singing model for the child
• is able to show a wide range of musicality and musical expression in all the instruments studied
• masters the different musical styles, their interpretation, playing and singing techniques and is able to compose and perform small musical compositions for different situations
• uses their skills creatively in their work as a teacher
• is able to play a wide range of different types of music on the piano and will be able to use their piano skills in a variety of teaching, performance and interactive situations.

Content

• Development of more detailed learning objectives and plans to support the students’ development as musicians
• Practice as varied a repertoire as possible, specific to each student’s main instrument
• Practice as varied a repertoire as possible, specific to each student’s secondary instrument, both children's song repertoire and other repertoire specific to the instrument
• Development of instrumental skills which is demonstrated each semester at a yearly concert, open class or similar event where all students perform with their main and secondary instruments

Qualifications

In order to participate in these courses, students must demonstrate the development of their instrumental skills in a concert, open class session or similar event organised every semester.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

A satisfactory attendance is required for successful completion of the course. The assessment will focus on the strengths of the students' instrumental skills and is intended to support the students in achieving their performance goals. The students' instrumental skills are assessed in a variety of ways at different stages of the learning process. Students also learn to self-assess their own skills. The assessment takes place in an interactive feedback discussion.
