Objective

The student
• can produce harmonic arrangements and accompaniments by ear, from chord symbols, and from musical notation
• is able to apply musical elements and their knowledge in constructing accompaniments
• is able to accompany their students in teaching situations
• practices with their accompaniment instrument in an ergonomically sustainable way
• adapts accompaniments to their own playing level.

Content

• Producing accompaniments in different styles tailored to the student's orientation for teaching needs in pop/jazz and classical music from sheet music, chord symbols, and by ear
• Exercises related to mastering harmony and rhythm
• Basics of accompaniment instrument techniques
• Composing and practicing accompaniments
• Various exercises and techniques according to orientation in different styles

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student
• can produce accompaniments suitable for their own playing level
• recognises their strengths and areas for improvement
• works determinedly towards their learning goal.
