Objective
The student
• can utilise basic technical exercises for their main and secondary instruments to develop their instrumental skills and apply them in their own music-making
• develops their skills on their main instrument and gains proficiency in playing or singing with secondary instruments
• can also enhance their skills in other areas supporting their major studies, such as songwriting, music production, or music software, if desired
• learns the playing/singing technique, rhythm, and phrasing required by their repertoire
• gains the ability to work in an ensemble and fosters the development of musical creativity and thinking.
Content
Goal-oriented individual instruction and practice on the main and secondary instruments or other areas supporting major studies.
Qualifications
Completion of the Instrument Studies 3 course, or as agreed with the teacher responsible for the instrument.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student recognises their strengths and areas for improvement on their main and secondary instruments or other areas supporting their major studies and can work determinedly towards their learning objectives.
