Objective

The student
• is able to describe the importance of a good recording process in successful music production and learns to apply various solutions in their work
• can describe and utilise the features and purposes of different studio equipment in various recording situations
• knows how to plan and execute a recording session in a professional studio and collaborate with musicians in a studio setting
• can listen critically and analytically
• can work in a goal-oriented manner according to given assignments and schedules.

• Studio work and skills and knowledge in music technology
• Planning, organising, and executing a large studio session
• Conducting recording exercises

Qualifications

The student
• can use the environment and equipment required for music studio production at a basic level
• understands the fundamentals and terminology of hearing, sound, and acoustics and can seek information on these topics
• can operate in a studio environment and use studio equipment appropriately
• knows the basics of signal routing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving in a studio setting.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student
• is able to handle and use studio equipment diversely and appropriately in various recording situations
• knows the basics of troubleshooting and problem-solving in a demanding studio environment
• can operate in a studio environment in collaboration with a group of musicians
• works according to given assignments and schedules.
