Objective
The student
• understands the design principles of woven textiles and learns the technical basics of weaving
• is able to identify the weave structures of woven fabrics and apply weaving theory in practical work
• understands the influence of material and structures on the properties of woven textiles and is able to create moods using different textures, weaves and yarns
• understands the concept of a textile collection and is able to evaluate the suitability of the fabric’s properties for different uses.

• Structures, design and construction of woven fabrics
• Effect of the material and weave in woven textiles
• Creating a mood and building a collection
