Objective

The student
• is able to anticipate future changes and trends and identify the effects of future changes on design
• understands the changes in the operating environment
• knows the principles of foresight and futures studies and is able to use future knowledge for professional design practices and foresight methods in the design process.

• Forecasting the future in the field of design and applying forecasts to the design process
• Principles and methods of futures studies and their relevance to designer's work
• Operational environment and observing its changes
• Visionary conceptualisation

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• is able to anticipate future changes and trends and identify the effects of future changes on design
• knows the principles of predicting the future and studying the future.

The student
• is able to anticipate future changes and trends well and to recognise the effects of future changes on design
• has a good understanding of the principles of foresight
• is able to make good use of future knowledge for professional practice in design and foresight in the design process.

The student
• is able to anticipate future changes and trends well and to recognise the effects of future changes on design
• has an excellent understanding of the principles of foresight and is well versed in utilising future knowledge for professional practice in design and the methods of anticipation in the design process.
