Objective

The student
• understands the importance of usability testing as part of the digital service development process and applies key testing methods to improve usability and user experience
• becomes familiar with both qualitative and quantitative usability testing techniques and selects appropriate methods for different situations
• analyses usability testing data and uses the results to enhance the usability and functionality of services and products.

Content

• Key techniques and methods in usability testing
• Implementation and analysis of qualitative usability testing
• Fundamentals of quantitative usability testing
• Utilising test results effectively in the design process

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• participates in the course activities at a satisfactory level
• recognises the basics of usability testing and can conduct simple qualitative tests and analyse results at a basic level.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• actively participates in course activities
• uses usability testing techniques and methods systematically and applies qualitative testing methods in various testing environments
• understands the basics of quantitative testing
• analyses test results and utilises them in the design process to improve usability and user experience.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• demonstrates exceptional engagement in course activities
• masters usability testing techniques and design and conducts qualitative tests professionally
• understands the principles of quantitative testing
• critically analyses test results and comprehensively utilises findings to improve user experience and usability.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student
• participates in the course activities at a satisfactory level
• recognises the basics of usability testing and can conduct simple qualitative tests and analyse results at a basic level.
