Objective

The student
• is able to design and implement a website
• is able to use web publishing techniques and tools in their own productions and knows the potential of publishing platforms
• knows the basic principles of usability and user interface design and is able to apply them in designing the visual appearance of websites
• knows the special features of online typography
• is able to design interactive functionalities in a web service
• knows the means and practices of online visibility.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• is able to implement a web page and publish it
• is able to describe usability factors of a user interface
• is able to design the visuals, typography and interactions of a website with appropriate tools
• is able to describe how a CMS works
• is able to name factors affecting online visibility.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• is able to design, implement and publish a website with mostly appropriate design choices concerning visuals and usability
• is able to analyse the usability of a user interface
• is able to design the visuals, typography and interactions of a website with appropriate tools and take into account the principles of visual user interface design in their own design work
• is able to install a CMS and modify the content and layout of a website in a CMS
• is able to define factors affecting online visibility.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• is able to design, implement and publish a high quality website with appropriate design choices concerning visuals and usability
• is able to analyse the usability of a website systematically
• is able to design the visuals, typography and interactions of a website with appropriate tools, apply the principles of visual user interface design in their own design work and justify the solutions analytically
• is able to install a CMS, modify the content and layout of a website in a CMS and also use the advanced features of a CMS
• is able to apply the means of online visibility in practice
• is able to apply what they have learned and seek information independently to solve problems.
