Students master the essential theories, tools and work processes of cinematic storytelling.

Content

• Fundamentals of cinematic storytelling
• Theories of editing
• Shooting video with a digital camcorder
• Moving image editing
• File and distribution formats

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• is able to shoot and edit the video they are filming
• is able to combine video clips in succession into a narrative whole
• can adjust the colour tones of a video image
• is able to record, add and apply sounds to a video project and edit sound
• is able to save a video project in a format suitable for the distribution channel.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• is able to shoot, record and edit high-quality projects that apply the basics of film narration
• is able to master the use of the camcorder and able to shoot with it, taking into account the shooting situation and mode
• is able to adjust the tones of the video image in a goal-oriented way
• is able to record and process the recorded sound to suit their project
• is able to apply the means of film narration they have learned in their projects
• is able to export a video project in the right format for the distribution channel.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• is able to shoot, record and edit high-quality projects that apply the basics of film narration
• is able to master the use of the camcorder and are able to shoot a high quality image with it
• knows the basics of colour correction and definition and uses their skills to emphasise the mood
• is able to design and implement an audio track that supports film narration
• is able to acquire new knowledge while implementing projects
• is able to export video appropriately in different formats depending on the application.

The student
• is able to shoot and edit the video they are filming
• is able to combine video clips in succession into a narrative whole
• can adjust the colour tones of a video image
• is able to record, add and apply sounds to a video project and edit sound
• is able to save a video project in a format suitable for the distribution channel.
