The student will learn about design thinking in the context of visual communication, especially in designing services and user experiences.

• Differences between traditional and modern design process
• Design and problem-solving process

The student
• knows the key differences between the traditional and modern design process
• understands the importance of design thinking in a customer-oriented design process.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• knows the key differences between the traditional and modern design process
• understands the importance of design thinking in the customer-oriented design process and is able to utilize it both in their work and in forming their own designer identity.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• knows the key differences between the traditional and modern design process
• understands the importance of design thinking in a customer-oriented design process
• is able to utilise design thinking in forming their own designer identity and as part of their own design work
• is able to participate independently in the discussion of design thinking in the field and its possible future development directions.
