Objective

The student
• deepens their knowledge of lighting design and will be able to design public space lighting for different user needs, which can be controlled for changing situations
• is able to select and design luminaires and make lighting calculations using a calculation program
• is able to create 3D models of lighting and luminaires and prepare design documents
• is able to present their work in a professional manner.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• has partially achieved the objectives of the course
• understands the lighting design of various public spaces with its special features and knows their significance as part of the quality of the final design work
• is able to take the user's needs into account in the design
• is able to take into account the suitability of different luminaires in their own work
• understands how to do lighting calculation with a lighting calculation program
• has successfully completed the assignments.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• has achieved the objectives of the course well
• understands the whole related to the lighting design of different public spaces with its special features and knows their importance as part of the quality of the final design work
• is able to use and apply different aspects of lighting design in their own work
• is able to do lighting calculation with a lighting calculation program
• has successfully completed the course assignments and has been able to apply what they have learnt in carrying them out.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• has excellently achieved the objectives of the course
• has an excellent command of the lighting design of various public spaces with its special features and deeply understands their importance as part of a high-quality design result
• is able to use skillfully and apply different aspects of lighting design in an appropriate way in their own work
• has successfully completed the course assignments and applied what they have learnt in with particular merit.
