Objective

The student masters the systematic methodology of the conservation process and can apply it to different types of objects, justifying their decisions related to the conservation process.
The student understands and recognizes that cultural heritage involves both tangible and intangible meanings and values.
The student understand that values and meanings are time-bound and comprehend the significance of participation and multiculturalism in the decision-making process. The student masters the use of significance analysis method and can apply it to various cultural expressions.

The student will be able to act appropriately in both working life and entrepreneurship-related communication situations. The student is able to produce different types of written material for different media. The student is able to communicate as a specialist in different situation and environments related to research and development. The student is able to acquire information, analyze and use information in relevant manner. The student knows the good practice of written and oral communication and is able to apply and respect them accordingly. The student is able to use his/her language and communication skills for continuing development of his/her professional thinking and expertise.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has a lot of absences from the teaching sessions. Activity during the teaching sessions and learning assignments is unsatisfactory. The student should improve her/his group working abilities. The capacity to formulate relevant problems associated with the work is limited and therefore the problem solving and ability to apply theoretical studies to a practical work need to be improved. The student does not work independently and there is a lot of need for teacher’s further guidance. The student has not given a requisite amount of attention for the subject and the result of the course is unbalanced. The student needs to improve her/his skills and knowledge in many areas.

The student is able to identify the elements of the communication process and is able to produce simple written texts of his/her own professional field and participate in interactive situations. The student has difficulties in data acquisition and in critical processing of acquired information.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student has taken part to all of the teaching sessions and learning assignments and the activity for the course is good. The student acts flexibly as a group member. The studies proceed coherently. The student is able to understand the basic motifs of the course and is able to apply theoretical studies to a practical work when needed. The reasoning of the rehearsal works is competent and the student understands causes and consequences of one's choice. The student works independently but there is still need for teacher’s further guidance. The student has given a requisite amount of attention for the subject and the result of the course is balanced. The student has achieved a good level at her/his skills and knowledge.

The student is able to evaluate his/her own communication skills and understands personal development areas. The student is able to communicate coherently and with goal-oriented way in professional communication situations, knows the significance of internal and external communication of his/her own field.
As a specialist the student communicates logically, comprehensibly and engagingly and addresses his/her message taking into consideration the recipient and the situation. The student is able to justify his/her views.
The student is able to acquire relevant information and use it critically. The student is able to produce goal-oriented written, oral or visual presentation.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The course objectives have been achieved in a competent manner. Student has taken actively and constructively part to the teaching and learning assignments. Student’s function enhances group activities. The student masters the motifs of the course and prerequisites and is able to apply theoretical studies to a practical work when needed. The reasoning of the rehearsal works is professional and the student can validate causes and consequences of one's choice. The student works independently enough. The student is able to master the whole of subject both in theory and practice. The student has achieved an excellent level at her/his skills and knowledge.

The student is able to develop his/her Finnish language and communication skills as a part of her/his expertise and is able to communicate in a meaningful, creative and personal way. The student argues her/his point with skill and shows, shares and develops her/his expertise in the community.

The student retrieves information independently and competently in order to produce new knowledge or new perspectives. The student uses language creatively and according to field practices.
