Objective

Students understand the connection between the structure and function of cells and tissues. They master the structure and function of skin and regard it as the largest organ of the human body reacting to touch in palpation. Students understand and use the basic terminology of the musculoskeletal system. They are proficient in types of synostosis and are able to analyse their significance to the mobility of joints. Students demonstrate competence in detailed skeletal structure. They are familiar with the anatomy of the shoulder and upper limbs and can explain the function of the upper limbs based on anatomical properties. Students can use foreign terminology of the structures. They understand the meaning of touch in manual work.

Content

Basic structure of cells and significance of cell membrane. Epithelial and supportive structures. Skin. Bones. Structure of joints in the shoulder and the upper limbs. Foreign terminology of musculoskeletal structures. Meaning of touch and ethical issues in manual work.
