Objective

The student understands the basics of energy economics and the application of its principles to the economic production and use of energy, energy pricing and energy trading. The student will understand the importance of the energy transition for future society.

- Basics of energy economics and calculation methods
- Costs of energy supply: fuel prices, availability, taxation, energy tariffs and scenarios
- Energy production costs: electricity and heat production costs for non-renewable and renewable energy
- Equipment acquisition procedures and costs
- Energy markets and emissions trading
- P2X and hydrogen economy
- Non-emission and renewable energy system and production forms

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows how the costs of energy supply and production are formed. The student knows the basics of the procurement procedure. The student understands the importance of energy markets in the energy transition.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student will be able to calculate the costs of energy procurement and production. The student knows how emissions trading and energy markets work. The student understands the energy solutions and challenges of the future.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can calculate the cost of energy supply and production using several methods. The student knows how emissions trading and energy markets work and how they relate to energy supply and production. The student is able to analyze the energy crisis and its impact on society.
