Objective

Objectives:
The radiography student
understands the key legislation and concepts related to quality control in the radiographer’s work
understands the connection between quality control and patient safety and can analyse it
understands the importance and processes of self-assessment and clinical audits in the development of the unit
understands the importance of reporting and processing deviations in order to ensure patient safety
is able to implement and analyse technical quality assurance
can explain the principles of radiation protection in radiology rooms
knows the concepts of value-based healthcare and analyses its impact on the radiographer’s work
understands the role of the radiographer in the quality control process
analyses and compares patient safety practices in the radiographer’s profession in an international context

Prerequisites

Clinical practice in plain imaging examinations, 10 credits
Computed tomography, 5 credits
