Objective

Objectives:
The radiography student
can evaluate the justification for and optimisation of radiation exposure for the employee, the patient and the population
is able to communicate clearly about the risks involved in imaging examinations
understands their responsibility as a radiographer in a multidisciplinary team
understands the importance of imaging as a part of an acute patient’s clinical pathway
understands the special characteristics of emergency care from the perspective of imaging administered to an acute patient
is familiar with the guidelines of the authorities concerning radiation accidents

Dose management systems and use of the data they generate
Radiation risk communications
Legislation governing the use of medical radiation
Safety in the use of radiation in the diagnostics and treatment of an acute patient
