Computer Aided ManufacturingLaajuus (5 cr)
Course unit code: TX00FZ08
General information
- Credits
- 5 cr
Objective
The student
• can make 2.5-, 3- and 5-axis toolpaths for a machining centre using 3D volume and surface models
• is able to simulate and post-process the paths into an ISO-coded NC program and will be able to run the program on a machine tool
• is able to select the appropriate tooling and machining values for the program to achieve the required dimensional accuracy and surface roughness, taking into account machining costs and machining time.
Content
• 3D model creation and transfer to the CAM program
• 2.5-axis toolpaths
• 3-axis toolpaths for surfaces
• 3 +2 axis toolpaths
• 5-axis toolpaths
