Objective
Upon completion of the general placement, the student
• is familiar with the placement company, its business operations and working practices
• has developed professional and interpersonal skills in a work environment
• has acquired knowledge that will help to plan and evaluate future study and career development
• is able to apply the acquired knowledge into practice
• is familiar with ethically sustainable activities at the workplace
• is familiar with sustainable and responsible operating methods at the workplace.
Content
The 30 ECTS Work Placement is compulsory part of the Bachelor’s degree programme. The idea of the placement is to give the student an opportunity to get acquainted with the placement company, their area of business and real-life company practices.
Placement can be completed as one 20 week period or in parts. If the student does the placement in two separate parts, the first placement is called general placement and the second is called professional placement. At least half of the placement should be professional.

The student

• is able to identify, define and use concepts and models in the subject area of the course
• understands the conditions and principles of the development of expertise.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student
• has achieved the objectives of the course well, although there are still areas where knowledge and skills need to be improved
• has a good understanding of the concepts and models of the subject matter of the course and is able to carry out a reasoned analysis
• is able to apply what they have learned in leisure, learning and working life situations
• understands the importance of expertise in business and is able to analyse their own expertise.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student
• has achieved the objectives of the course with excellent marks
• has an excellent command of the concepts and models of the subject matter of the course
• is able to analyse clearly and reasonably and propose practical development measures
• has a good ability to apply what they have learned in leisure, learning and working life situations
• is able to analyse expertise in business and their own development towards expertise.
