Objective

Students identify the key structures of the central nervous system. They are able to describe the basic features of the functioning of central nervous system in motoric, sensory and autonomic activities. Students are able to explain formation, passages and innervation object of peripheral nerves in such way that, as the studies progress, they are able to use their knowledge for making an osteopathic diagnosis and treatment plan.

Structure and pathways of spinal cord, formation of spinal nerves
Cerebrospinal meninges and fluids
The main blood vessels of the central nervous system
Basics of regulating motor skills
Sensory functions
Limbic system
Segmentation of spinal nerves
Nerve plexus formed from the spinal nerves, and the peripheral nerves emanating from it
Cranial nerves
Autonomic nervous system: sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system

Knowledge base formed in the courses Anatomy and Physiology focusing on the back, thorax and upper extremities

enough with the sources of the field

· Student does not have adequate professional knowledge or skills
· Student does not act according to educational objectives or instruction
