Objective

Age technology:

The student is able to identify the special needs and challenges of older people in the context of living at home, and to apply technology to improve their quality of life, safety and independence. The student develops their competence in technological solutions and understands the importance of communication and interactive skills in guiding and supporting older people in the use of technology. The student also understands the ethical viewpoints and responsibilities in the use of age technology, particularly with regards to privacy and the right to self-determination.

Electronic solutions of prosthetics and orthotics:

The student expands their holistic and customer-oriented competence in the evaluation of functional capacity in relation to electronic solutions of prosthetics and orthotics. They are able to develop their competence in technological innovations for electronic solutions of prosthetics and orthotics. The student identifies the client’s needs and applies their prior learning to improve the client’s quality of life, safety and independence. They are able to explain the benefits created by technology and to deepen their competence in the ethical perspectives concerning electronic solutions of prosthetics and orthotics.

The course deals with the principles of sustainability, which are taken into consideration when examining the recyclability, durability and ethical production of technology and prosthetic and orthotic solutions as well as the utilisation of innovations, while promoting social responsibility in health care.
