Applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services and Bachelor’s Degree in Elderly Care can be accepted in the Master’s Degree Programme in Social Services. The extent of the studies is 90 credits, and they can be completed alongside work. Of the studies, 55 credits include advanced professional studies, Master’s thesis (30 credits) and elective studies (5 credits). The contact teaching is mainly implemented during three terms. The duration of the studies is 1.5 – 2 years.
The objective of the Master’s Degree Programme in Social Services is to educate professionals who are able to work in tasks developing basic and special services of social services and assume managerial roles in client service as well as work as special experts of their field.
The degree places considerable emphasis on the promotion of social welfare of children, young people and families. The social work strengthens them and is based on partnership.
The studies in the Master’s Degree Programme in Social Services are carried out as multiform learning. The workplace plays an important role during the studies and is a central learning and development environment. Evaluation of learning is a quality element present in all phases of the learning and teaching process. It is both instructing and developing in nature.
