Objective

After completing the course, the student is able to
• assess, monitor and support the vital signs of the patient in high-dependency and in-tensive care in every part of the treatment path
• recognize the needs and special issues regarding the high-dependency and intensive care of patients of different age groups and backgrounds
• recognize and assess the emotional and social support needed by the next of kin
