Objective

After completing the course, the student is able to
• demonstrate knowledge in the core pathophysiological issues that cause deteriorating vi-tal signs
• apply evidence based knowledge in the monitoring and assessment of the patients vital signs
• apply different treatment interventions needed in the care of the acutely ill or injured
• perform ALS resuscitation measures and post-resuscitation care
• design, implement and assess safe drug- and fluid treatments in acute care
• perform the necessary drug calculations needed in acute care

• Pathophysiology of disorders of basic organ functions, treatment of patients
• Resuscitation and post-resuscitation care
• Drug- and fluid treatments in acute care
• Acute care examinations, procedures and equipment
