Tavoitteet

The student knows how to sample and analyze forensic evidence. He/she knows how to use different chemical, physical and biological analysis techniques used in the forensic analysis.

Sisältö

1. Techniques of molecular biology and immunology: design and optimization of PCR reaction, real time PCR, sequencing and electrophoretic methods, ELISA
2. Identification of human and animal species
3. Body fluids
4. Applications of instrumental methods (GC-MS, LC-MS) used in forensic analysis, e.g. explosives, drugs and fire debris.
5. Microscopy: structure of equipment, function and applications (optical and electron microscopy), preparation and analysis of different microscopic samples
6. Crime scene
