Water is vital for human life, serving as both drinking water and a resource for the industrial and commercial sectors. It also plays a crucial role in maintaining ecosystems. Therefore, it is essential for scientists and engineers, particularly in civil and environmental engineering, to understand the principles of water resources management, including flows dynamics and water quality. This course aims to provide students with a scientific and engineering foundation in catchment water resource management.
The objectives of this course are to:
• Acquire fundamental knowledge about hydrological processes and water quality formation in terrestrial environments.
• Analyze water quality parameters and evaluate their significance.
• Describe and explain the primary water treatment methods for drinking water and sewage.
• Simulate water quality concentrations and plan for the preservation of water environments.
Sisältö
• Understanding the water cycle and hydrological processes in terrestrial environments
• Conducting field surveys for water quality analysis
• Performing experiments to analyze and assess water quality
• Learning about water treatment processes for drinking water and sewage
• Estimating water quality concentrations
• Planning and presenting strategies for the future preservation of watersheds
