They understand the connections between the contemporary media environment and the history of the media. They are able to critically assess the current state of their industry and its future prospects in relation to history.

Main developments in the history of the media that are relevant to their future profession (e.g., print media, film, radio, television, digital media, online media, theatre).

Aesthetic, technical, economic and social dimensions of the history of media and the connections between different media forms.
